For my Final Major Project at university, I decided to create a children’s book. The original concept for the book was to use 3d plasticine models for the characters and screen-prints for the backgrounds, however after a bit of experimentation with different techniques, I decided to screen-print all the characters and backgrounds. The book is 7 inches by 7 inches, so that it is small enough to be read by children on their own. The book is about a cat called Charlie who goes around the world and meets friends along the way. The aim of the story is to encourage young readers to understand that it doesn’t matter whether you are a cat or a crocodile, human or whatever, you can get along. The book will be sold along-side packs of SNAP! cards and stationary such as notepads and pens.
